I am so humbled at times by what Jesus is doing in my life. Even today in my study, I again read Phil 1:27 - 30
Philippians 1:27-30 (New International Version)
27Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel 28without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. 29For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him, 30since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
I marked this in my bible on 10/12/08 I wrote, "This has both political and professional implications - elections, and JR". I wrote that, 1 year and 4 months before I lost my job due to JR.
I thank God for giving me the Spirit to make it through the last year at VCIS. I also know, by reading the Word that NOTHING happens to us, that He doesn't know about, allow and give us strength for.
Matthew 10:28-31 (New International Version)
28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny[a]? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
God has a plan.
The final question in today's study was this:
If you knew that suffering went with believing on Jesus Christ (Phil 1:29), would you still want to enter into the new covenant? Why?
YES YES YES..... I would not want to suffer without Him!
