http://bible.us/Hab3.1.NIV A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet. On shigionoth . Lord , I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord . Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed— but he marches on forever. I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish. Were you angry with the rivers, Lord ? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode your horses and your chariots to victory? You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. You split the earth with rivers; the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high. Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear. In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations. You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding. You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters. I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord , I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.

Day 2

http://bible.us/Ps2.2.NIV The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,

All That Really Matters

Psalm 2 presents us with an interesting contrast. It depicts the nations of the earth in a huge huddle. They pool their powers and passions, their agendas and ambitions, their ingenuity and intellects...all for the purpose of overcoming and overriding the Lord's purposes. This unholy horde raises their fists and voices, proclaiming themselves as the keepers of all that's true. They preach it from the most hallowed halls of academia, in the most influential newspapers, magazines, and publications. And pity the person who doesn't blindly bow down to them. But on the other side of their assault sits God, who responds by laughing!

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the LORD shall hold them in derision. (Psalm 2:4 NKJV)

God is in control. No matter how intently man plots against Him, or how determined he is to reverse His holy agenda, God will not and cannot lose the least measure of control over everything. He will do His good pleasure, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters-not the will of man, but the pleasure of God. So it only stands to reason that if we hope to be people of substance and significance and leave a legacy that stands the test of time, then we need to get in line with what pleases God. He's always in control and will always do as He pleases. We can either align

God, help us to be those who not only know all that really matters, but those who truly live in light of it.

What does this passage reveal to me about God? God is holy. He is in control.

What does this passage reveal to me about myself..... why do I want to be on God's team?  Offs it because of what he can do for me ?   Or is it because he alone is good and my soul craves that relationship?

Based on this, what changes do I need to make?    /I need to spend more time praising the Lord and not get so caught up in day to day

What is my prayer for today? Father please feel me with your spirit that I would live you.   Break my heart with what breaks yours and use me o draw others to you.    I know hat I don't really know what it is I ask and I am fearful when I pray this way but I want to trust you.

Not just me, but my relationships

Use Your Words to Succeed at Being Yourself

Never say or think negative things about yourself, such as, "I never do anything right. I'll never change. I'm ugly. I look terrible. I'm dumb. Who could ever love me?" Matthew 12:37 says, "By your words you will be justified...and by your words you will be condemned." Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) says, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." In other words, the way we talk and think about ourselves reveals how we feel about ourselves and affects our lives.

You need to speak good things about yourself (as private confessions) in line with what the Word says about you. For example: "I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I am made acceptable in the Beloved. God created me and formed me with His own hands, and God doesn't make mistakes."

I like starting the day declaring positive, biblical confessions. You can do this while you're driving to work or cleaning house. I also encourage you to look in the mirror and say out loud, "God loves and accepts me, and so do I." When you start to speak good, positive truth about yourself, you can succeed at being yourself, just the way God created you to be.

Prayer Starter: God, I'm done with speaking negative things about myself. I declare the truth that You love me and accept me. I can be all that You created me to be. http://bible.us/r/3D.5j.5u Today I am reading day 355 of Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life - a Daily Devotional:

Do it afraid

Fear and my own will/desires have almost caused me to miss Gods blessings.     Thank you Lord for leading me.

Don't Give in to Fear

The Bible tells of a man named Abram who trusted God in spite of his own personal fear.

How would you feel if God told you to leave your home, your family and everything that is familiar and comfortable and head out to an unknown destination? Full of fear? That's precisely the challenge Abram faced, and it frightened him. But God's words to him were "Fear not."

Many times we think we should wait to do something until we are no longer afraid, but if we did that, we'd probably accomplish very little for God, for others, or even for ourselves. Abram had to step out in faith and obedience to God, despite his fear.

If Abram had bowed his knee to fear, he never would've fulfilled his destiny to become all God created him to be, the father of many nations.

Giving in to fear alters God's best plan for your life, so do what He wants you to do...even if you have to do it afraid! Like Abram, you'll find that the rewards are great.

Prayer Starter: God, You were faithful to Abram when he obeyed You in spite of fear, so I also decide to put my fear aside and do whatever You tell me to do. ://bible.us/r/3D.4Q.5u Today I am reading day 274 of Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life - a Daily Devotional:

Joyce meyer on being needed

lord Jesus, please help me to encourage those you bring to mind today.  There are often days I don't feel like I can do everything you call me to do.   Please give me your spirit and your grace.  Help me to encourage teachers who have to give all day long.

Do You Ever Feel Too Needed?

Philippians 2:3 says to regard others more than yourself. The Holy Spirit wants to develop in us a desire to prefer others and meet their needs. However, living this way can sometimes be tiring. Let's face it - we all have days when we don't want to go out of our way to help someone else.

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed trying to help others the way I think I should. At times it seems all of my family members need me, my employees need me, my friends need me, and they all need me in different ways.

Do I ever feel too needed? Yes! And it's OK if you do too. We all feel overwhelmed from time to time. But we must remember that God gives us grace to do whatever He's asking us to do.

When you feel weary trying to meet the needs of others, go back to Philippians 2:3 and ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Humble yourself before God and He will strengthen you to be there for the people in your life that He's asking you to help.

Prayer Starter: God, I want to obey Your Word and regard others more than myself. When I'm struggling, lacking a desire to help others and feel overwhelmed, give me Your grace and strength to love and help the people You've placed in my life.

http://bible.us/Phil2.1.NIV Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, "children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation." Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

Struggling

I know who i am in Christ.  I know Jesus loves me and has saved me.    Jesus ... forgive me for not feeling "it" at the moment.  I want to be unsetteled,  so I am seeking the Lord.   I am thankful for where I am today but want to always grow.     I just don't always want the pain that comes with growth.     Lord give me a desire to be in your word and to persue you.

From joyce Meyer:

Putting on the Gift of God's Righteousness

Here are two very important questions that you need to ask yourself:

'Do I know who I am in Christ?'
'Am I walking in righteousness?'

Too many people can't properly answer these questions and it keeps them from living in the freedom and peace that God designed for them to walk in.

The moment we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, the Bible says God takes away our sin and gives us His righteousness. It's a gift, and we don't need to earn it. But we do need to put it on, and every time we do, we receive His peace.

When you know who you are in Christ, worldly obstacles won't matter anymore. When you know that He loves you and He died for you, you'll just get up every day and do your best to love God.

When that happens, when you know who you are in Christ, you can put on and walk in the righteousness that He purchased for you. As you experience His love for you, your natural response will be to live for Him with all that you have.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I want to be constantly aware of who I am in You. Help me to remember all that You've done for me so that I can daily put on Your righteousness. http://bible.us/2Cor5.21.NIV God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Enjoy life

http://bible.us/r/3D.3s.5u Today I am reading day 240 of Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life - a Daily Devotional:

It's OK to Enjoy Your Life Enjoyment is the fuel we need to reach the finish line of an endeavor with a good attitude. We may drive ourselves to finish, but somewhere along the way we will probably become bitter and get a chip on our shoulder if we don't lighten up and take time to celebrate the journey. Too many people work constantly and stress themselves out, feeling guilty about enjoying and celebrating life when God has clearly ordained and commanded both labor and enjoyment. Ecclesiastes 2:24 says that it's good for us to relax and enjoy ourselves in the midst of hard work. Our thinking has been warped in this area. Satan has managed to deceive us, and by doing so he succeeds in keeping people weary and worn-out, feeling resentful and taken advantage of because of excessive work and responsibility. We need times of refreshment and recreation as well as work and accomplishment. You should be diligent in whatever task God has placed in front of you, but make sure that you find a balance by learning to reward yourself and enjoy life. God thinks you are worth it! Prayer Starter: God, I realize now that You want me to enjoy my life and reward myself. Instead of feeling guilty and never stopping for a break, I choose today to experience the joy that You planned for me.

problems are inevitable , living overwhelmed is optional.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

When God shows you

God has been speaking to me quite a bit lately.  He is showing me that am the only enemy of my mind.  I really do need to care for others more and worry less about having them understand me.

http://bible.us/r/3D.3g.5u I just finished day 228 of Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life - a Daily Devotional Bible reading plan at YouVersion.com

The Enemy Has a Plan Too

God has a plan for your life, but the devil has a plan for you too. As a result, the Bible says we need to "be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times."

Temperate means 'disciplined,' sober of mind means 'serious,' vigilant means 'determined' and cautious means 'careful.' We are to live like this 'at all times.' That's serious.

But we need to get serious to fight off the enemy. Whenever God shows you an area in your life where the enemy is attacking you, that's not the time to sit back and do nothing. It's time to get serious and fight back against Satan.

God's plan is for us to be more than conquerors in Christ. We don't have to live enslaved to the enemy's plan. You can decide right now to do what you need to do. Get serious with God, follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and stay on guard against the enemy. Choose today to follow God's plan for your life, not Satan's, and you will defeat the enemy at every turn.

Prayer Starter: God, I choose Your plan, not the enemy's. Show me the areas where he is attacking me and guide me in defeating him.

Doing good

http://bible.us/Gal6.9.NIV Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Forgive  me Father,  for I ha e grown weary.   Exhausted at times even.   That must me that more often than not I am doing things on my own,  not in your spirit.

Lord please help me discern when whether it is trying to do things on my own or whether it is people crossing.g boundaries.     Having craig tell me that he thinks I am too used to being the boss,  getting my own way, shocked me.   I dont feel like people just do things for.the.most part.  I feel like I am fair at work and that people don't take me serriously more often than not.

I'm not sure how much of these issues we are facing has to do with my recent prayer of not requiring others to seek to understand and trusting you.

Father I want to lead like you did but I can not do it without your spirit.  Fill me Jesus.    At this moment all I want is you.   I need to feel you near me.

Anger

If I stay angry I am giving the devil a foothold.    I need to choose this day who I will live for.   I choose life.

Gal 2:20

http://bible.us/Gal2.20.NIV

scripture known and memoruzed by so many, but HOW do i really put this in practice?

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

How?

http://bible.us/Gal2.20.NIV I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Forgetting About Ourselves

Paul said that he had been "crucified with Christ." In other words, he had to stop thinking about himself in order to live for God. And we are encouraged to do the same.

At this point you may be thinking, "What about me? Who is going to take care of me?" This is usually what prevents us from living the way God wants us to live. It always comes back to me.

(Not so much who is going to take care of me but who will care for me?      Spots and all?)

We are so accustomed to seeing our desires satisfied that the very thought of forgetting about ourselves even for one day can be frightening. But if we can muster up the courage to try it, we will be amazed at the freedom and joy we experience.

(Father,  if you are calling me to put aside my.hurt for today then please show me how.   Withdrawing is the only way I know.  How can I show kindness to craig today when all I want to do is run.    Please show me where my attitude was so deserving of.turning around and coming home.    I was cranky for.all of two minutes.   Help me to give up the need to always defend and explain myself but to still be kind.    I believe this has more to do with the ticket than me but if I'm wrong Father if I was so unkind to my husband - if I really am becoming so demanding and selfish father please show me.    Lord I don't want to be selfish. I want to be everything you desire for me.  )

The secret to having joy is giving your life away rather than trying to keep it. When you get the focus off of you and onto God, God can show you how to live a truly meaningful life

(Show me how to make it through today ...if craig wants me to go back to la give.me your spirit.  Fill me father that I would respond in love. )

I encourage you to start your days by dedicating yourself to God. When you do, He will faithfully help you live a godly life.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I offer You my eyes, ears, mouth, hands, feet, heart, finances, gifts, talents, abilities, time, energy, all of me! It's not about me. It's all about You.

God has surely opened the door

From todays reading:  i know that God has opened the door to the school.     Thank you father for giving me your vision.   I get so discouraged when i try to do this on my own.    Thank yoh for the reminder that YOU are doing it!   I just need to sit on the bus and do the work.

God Opens and Shuts Doors

There are critical times in our lives when we especially need to know we are hearing clearly from God. It isn't always easy to know His voice from that of our own emotional reasoning. But I know from experience that God can open doors of opportunity that no one can close, and He can also close doors that we cannot open.

I spent many years trying to organize things I wanted to do in life. The result was frustration and disappointment. But I found that if we depend on God, He will give us favor and make things easy for us when we seek Him and His perfect timing. He leads one step at a time. If you take one step forward in the wrong direction, He will let you know before you go too far.

Be aware that His thoughts are above your thoughts. He sees the end from the beginning. All His ways are right and sure. He knows what makes sense for your life and He can make it happen. Hear from Him and you will not be deceived.

Prayer Starter: God, I trust You to open the right doors in my life and shut the wrong ones. Even when I don't know what to do, I have faith that I can hear from You and follow Your will.

So much to consider and pray

As i read this Gid is putting so mu h in my heart!

http://bible.us/2Cor3.5.NIV Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

I am not confident in my abilities.   But I know that I know that I know that God has given me the position I am in and that He will complete what he has started.   - father I need your spirit and the life you bring in order to discern what you are having us di.   Lord, there are times I feel so inadequate and insecure.   Sometimes father,  random comments have me believing people think (or forget)  about the hard work that went into the charter.   Lord Jesus,  I need your quiet and gentle spirit.   I need your confidence.   Jesus it isn't about me.  It is about the change you are bringing to peoples lives.     I worry about some of our staff that may not know you or has wandered from your truth.   Jesus please call your children.   Please keep you at the front of my mind Lord.

Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

- father,  please remove the veil from all of our eyes that Jesus is what we see in our staff,  students and parents.    Father I desire to seen to understand this year,  but I need you for discernment,  wisdom and humility.  That all I do and say would be your will.   Lord I need your confidence.    I desire to give up the struggle for power.    Thank you Jesus.   Help me be diligent in what you've called me to di.

On time and fools

Great devotiinal today. I especially resonate with the scripture.

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God.  Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrafice if fools who do not know they are wring.

Last year,  I got frustrated because I felt that I was the only one that was supposed to seek to understand and then be understood.    Today though,  God is telling me to listen more than I talk.

Lord Jesus,  I hear you telling ne to listen.  This was even our topic yesterday.    Father please give me your peace and wisdom to be able to put my explanations aside.     Lord I want to trust you in this.    Thank you for loving me even when I'm kind of slow.

Who does God use?

This is from my devotional for the day.    (One of them anyway)    this has been what I have believed about myself for the last year.    GOD CHOSE ME to do something amazing.  God is continuing to use Me!   I look back on my life and know that I am still the very shy little girl who will hide.behind my parents legs.     I am still the insecure young lady who always thinks I'm fat.      When I run into people like Penny,  and sandi I am again reminded of the new believer I was.    But I have so wanted to be in Gods will and to have the quiet and gentle spirit and In Him!!! I do.     Thank you Jesus for the work you are doing in me.

http://bible.us/1Cor1.27.NIV But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,

Joyce Meyer

Who Does God Use?

God's chosen me to speak to crowds. People listen to me because God has anointed me to speak for Him, it's part of His destiny for my life. And God will anoint whomever He chooses to work through. That includes you.

Who does God use? The Bible says that He picks the unlikely. He uses common, ordinary people like you and me.

When I started to preach the Gospel, some of my friends rejected me, they didn't think I should do that because I'm a woman. In fact, they told me I couldn't do that.

But I was doing it because God told me to do it, and I trusted that if He told me I could do it, then I could do it. The same thing is true for you. If you are willing to have an uncommon goal, God can do something great through you!

Every common person can be used mightily by God. You just have to believe He can use you and be daring enough to embrace the goals or vision He puts in your heart. You have been chosen!

Prayer Starter: God, because You have chosen me, I won't doubt the destiny You have for me. Thank You for giving me a purpose in You.

Let your light shine

How guilty am I for not opposing evil?   Or for complaining but not doing.g.something about it.  ?

Let Your Light Shine

Famed philosopher and orator Edmund Burke once said, 'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.' It's true. Doing nothing is easy, but it's also dangerous. Where there is no opposition to evil, evil will multiply.

We all fall into the trap of complaining about the things that are wrong. But complaining does nothing except discourage us even more. It changes nothing because there is no positive power in it.

Imagine what a mess the world would be if all God did was complain about everything that has gone wrong since He created it. But the Father doesn't complain. He continues to be good and work for justice. Evil is powerful, but good is more powerful.

We need to stop and realize that God has chosen to work on this earth through His children, you and me. His light is inside us and we can't afford to do nothing. We must let our light shine, no matter what, as we live our lives doing good in His name.

Prayer Starter: Lord, it's very easy to sit back and do nothing, but it's so much better to actively let Your light shine. Help me stand in opposition to evil, and act on Your goodness every chance I get.

Love without growing weary

http://bible.us/r/3D.3K.5u Do you love without growing weary? For me its easier when its a person who is easy to love. But what about when its a complicated, or just mean grumpy person?

Prov 22

http://bible.us/Prov22.4.NIV Humility is the fear of the Lord ; its wages are riches and honor and life.

I was paying bills last night and began to panic thinking we were out of money - again.   I briefly read this verse,  then headed off to bed.
This verse reminded me that God is in control.  Not me.

You ask that we walk humbly in you.  Forgive me Lord for always thinking that I am in this alone.  Thank you for the people you've put in my life to guide me.  Give.me your peace and your strength as we move toward the.new school year.

When I crawled into bed,  I realized that.although we just.deposited a.paycheck,  it was received two weeks ago,  so. Craig gets paid again in a couple of days,  not next week!

Value

You have incredible value.

Just like the housing market , value is only worth something when someone wants the item.   There are so many empty houses on the market because they need to be fixed.

Imagine the height of the market, people were paying increfible prices for houses.   If houses were.people, God would habe paifd even.more for the smallest hoise needing repaids because he.loves us.and He alone asigns our worth.

Rose colored glasses

http://bible.us/r/3D.37.5u Today I am reading day 193 of Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life - a Daily Devotional:

Rose-Colored Glasses and Magnifying Glasses

When we think and talk about what is wrong with everyone else, we are usually deceived about our own conduct. Jesus commanded that we not concern ourselves with what is wrong with others when we have so much wrong with ourselves (see Matthew 7:3-5).

The Bible clearly tells us that when we judge others, we often judge them for things that we also do!

I once asked God why we would do something ourselves and think it was perfectly alright but judge someone else who does it. The Lord said, "Joyce, you look at yourself through rose-colored glasses, but you look at everyone else through a magnifying glass."

It's true! We make excuses for our own behavior, but when someone else does the same thing we do, we are often merciless.
I encourage you to reverse the process, assume the best in others, but keep your own life under the magnifying glass. Allow God to deal with you first, and then you will learn the scriptural way of helping others grow.

Prayer Starter: Holy Spirit, instead of examining the lives of others, I want You to help me examine my own life. I know that with Your help, I can correct the issues I have and find the proper way to help others grow as well.

Living by the spirit

http://bible.us/Gal5.1.NIV It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
